No more wasted potential, please!

I was back in England last week helping sort through all my grandparents' old belongings. My Grandma kept EVERYTHING, every report card from school, every notebook, every piece of memorabilia.

Something that struck me was just how much incredible potential they both had. My grandma was a talented artist and musician. She had notebooks full of artwork that nobody ever saw. She framed her degree certificate from the Royal College of Music but rarely let anybody hear her play.

My grandad was an innovator. He was always tinkering with electricals or dreaming up big creative ideas. His greatest accomplishment was designing the first-ever foldable campervan! He had all the patents and was advertised on the radio and even on BBC news.
Sadly for my grandad, the stress was too much and he spent most of his life in and out of hospital, suffering badly with his mental health.

I often wondered if this is where my drive to help people achieve their potential and live out their dreams came from. If my grandparents had more confidence, more support from those around them, more opportunities, more resources, and perhaps somebody fighting in their corner relentlessly, could they have struggled less and thrived more?

It often takes somebody else to point out our brilliance. We confuse confidence and self-belief for arrogance and self-importance, but imagine the power we would have if we truly believed in ourselves as much as the people who love us often do.

That is why I'm here, to help you see what you're capable of and develop the courage to (at least) TRY to do the things you think/talk/dream about!

Don't be the last person to see what everyone around you has seen for years. We only get one life to live.

If there's something you're sitting on and think it's time to explore it, why not book a free call and use it to see if now's the time for you? Remember I always offer free wellbeing support drop-in calls as well if that's something you need. You won't see it on my website but you can find out more and look for a time here, or just send me a message 💙

Sending love, Nicola

I’m back! Here's what's changed and how it benefits you... Hi!! Oh my word, the amount of times I have rewritten this email in my head and now I’m finally sending it (in a mad rush ‘cause, Mum life…) It has been so, so long since we last “spoke”. Today I am BACK TO WORK after my maternity leave! (Part-time, but I'm here!) I am GIDDY that I get to work again. I am so grateful for the privilege of spending so much precious time with my loves and finding my feet as a mother, but at the same...

This book helped me make sense of SO many things Hello lovely people. Wow, it was almost two months ago when I last wrote to you! I hope the summer is treating you well and you are being kind to yourselves. I have been reading lots, taking things at a slower pace and nurturing myself and my bump as much as possible. Only three months to go until I meet my daughter, time is flying! A book recommendation for you One of the books that was recommended to me several times by therapist colleagues,...

Helping ourselves feel good again - using occupational therapy I was trying to articulate how I’ve been feeling lately to a friend but was struggling with it. When I remembered to plug my OT (occupational therapy) brain back in, it all made perfect sense. In occupational therapy and occupational science, one of the underpinning beliefs is that taking part in the things that are meaningful, important and necessary to us (as complete individuals in our own unique lives) is crucial to our...
